About Me

Nicholas Carlino

Nicholas Carlino has over 20 years of professional photography experience. Nicholas has worked as a photographer for several organizations including the New Haven Nighthawks Hockey team (1988), New Haven Skyhawks Basketball team (1992), the Yale Hockey team (1993-1999), the Totoket Times Newspaper (2001-present), and the North Haven Citizen.

Nicholas’ photographic style is a nice mix of posed photojournalistic , candid, traditional, and creative images. Nick only uses professional equipment and always carries backup gear.

Whether it's a wedding or a special occasion, Nicholas' images capture human emotions, personalities, genuine moments, and split second details. Photography for Nicholas started as a hobby at an early age but quickly developed into a passion.

Nicholas was a member of the Connecticut Professional Photographers Association (CPPA) and is currently a member of the Coastal Camera Club. In addition to Town Images, Nicholas teaches digital photography in North Haven, as well as forensics and chemistry at West Haven High School. In his spare time he enjoys playing chess, model railroading, and playing golf. Nicholas also enjoys reading U.S. history and forensic science.

Photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place...it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.
